Kagithane 6242 Residences, Istanbul

Inspired by the rich hues of the iconic Istanbul sunsets, the residential project incorporates beautiful ombre tones into the angular mid-rise tower. The program incorporates various sized apartments as well as retail space located at the base of the building.

Sandwiching the core, two narrow volumes appear to hover above the transparent base of the building. Each tower's distinct orientation is reinforced by mirrored planes, which offer contrasting canvases for the composition of punched and cased windows.

Creating further differentiation between the two volumes, the core pulls out to interrupt the facade and create a thin corten steel reveal between the opposing frames.
